Ilmington 10k, Tempo Winter Series race 5/5 – 20th February 2022
This was the 5th and final race of this year’s Tempo Winter Series at Ilmington. Always a challenging event, with teasing hills included for free, there was an unpopular additional competitor in the form of Storm Eunis, still showing her strength.
Regular participants at Ilmington know what to expect and Bourton Roadrunners’ Lorna Shawcross and Sharon Rees were there representing the club, finishing in 55:07 and 70:44 respectively, with Lorna achieving 3rd LV55. Having completed all 5 races in the series, not only did they receive their finisher’s pack of sausages but also a hooded sweatshirt.

Lydiard: Lucy Hillary, 3rd female and 2nd JW11-14 – 20:44.
Riverfront: Jaq Underwood (2nd claim) – 23:36.
Stratford-upon-Avon: Susan Hunt (2nd claim) 1st LV55 – 25:48.
Highlights
Lorna and Sharon complete the 5 race series at the tough Ilmington 10k. Not just sausages all-round, but a highly sought after hooded sweatshirt.
